State Individual Wrestling Tournament
Division 2: February 27 & 28
What a week to remember. No one knew much about the state
individual wrestling tournament as Eric and Marc were the first from Lakeside to
ever qualify for the WIAA tournament. The pressure was intense on both young men
as well as the parents, coaches, fans, and teammates. Marc and Eric may
have gone 0-3 at the tournament but they came up as big winners in our book.
Future Lakeside state qualifiers will be better prepared because of the trail
that you two have blazed. Thank you very much.
The parents and fans thank the entire team for this fantastic
season. What a wild and fantastic ride we had due to your hard work and
dedication. Four trophies, beating Lake Mills for the first time in school
history, beating Marshall, four regional champions, one sectional champion, and
a ton of memories is your gift to us.
A special heartfelt thank you to the three
coaches for the time and effort that you have invested in our sons. Our
sons are better men and Christians because of what you have done. You deserve
much of the glory and have our deepest appreciation. Good luck in the
future Coach Nickels, Coach Stewart, and Coach Ewings.
