Grandma's Chocolate Chip Cookies

3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
2 eggs
2-1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda with 3 tbs boiling water
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 pkgs chocolate chips

Cream sugar and butter.
Add eggs.
Beat well.
Add flour sifted with salt.
Add soda & water & vanilla then chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoonful.
Bake at 375
