Chris Graduates US Army Airborne School

Graduation
On 19 December 2002, Dennis Christopher Liechty graduated Airborne School and earned the honor of being authorized to wear Airborne wings.  Chris completed five jumps including one wearing full combat load.  All five jumps were out of C130 aircraft at an altitude ranging from 1,200 to 1,400 above ground level.  Chris's father, Dennis, was able to attend the ceremony and pinned on his wings.  Dennis graduated from the same school 25 years and 4 weeks before Chris. Because Dennis is Airborne qualified, he was part of a special ceremony in which Airborne qualified parents or grandparents were called out of the crowd and they pinned on the wings on their son, daughter, grandson, or granddaughter.

One of three towers that were purchased by the Army after they were used at the 1936 World's Fair.

The 34 Foot Towers

Used to practice exiting the plane. Then you slide down the cable and practice you PLF (parachute landing fall). That is much better than a PFL (parachute failure landing).

Just a hint. He's the tall one in back.

In Formation

We are not joking when we say he is heads above the rest.
